Wing Bar, Smith Street, Brooklyn

"Wing Bar" is located on Smith Street in Carroll Gardens. They have a small, narrow space, like many of the restaurants along smith street and this allows for a cozy, intimate vibe. They have a few better beers on tap like Captain Lawrence and also your "run of the mill" sports bar beers. The place gets pretty crowded so be prepared to get there before the rush or have a drink at the bar and wait till a table opens up. They also have a sweet backyard so, if the weather is nice, sit out back and enjoy. Overall, Wing Bar serves it up right and makes a buffalo wing worthy of the chosen name.

Here is the breakdown:

Rating: 9.5

Size: 7.7 - good size, consistent meaty wings, not too big or too small

Sauce:  8.3 -  good wet sauce, wasn't sitting in soup though, medium was a little too mild but, hot was just right

Sizzle: 9.7 - deep fried wings, cooked just right

Sides: 8 - good blue cheese, good thickness, good portion, no charge for extras within reason

Samoleans: 7.7 - decent price for an order, not great but could be worse

Service: 9.7 - we waited at the bar because the place was packed, the server kept an eye out for us and made sure no one tried to scam our table by walking in and feeling entitled to an immediate seating, good service, quick and sassy

Setting: 9 - cool space, narrow dining area with some TVs, in warmer weather...plenty of space outside to eat and drink to your hearts content

Deep Fried Goodness

Superlatives: 1 - we ordered some deep fried brussel sprouts...two words, bang - ing, health food never tasted sooo good, above average beer selection(Capt Lawrence, Sam) and they sell pitchers...rare.
