The Black Whale, LBI, NJ. Ok...not exactly chicken wings

The Black Whale is located in New Jersey on Long Beach Island. They don't serve chicken wings but they have good buffalo calamari and it is the home of The Dirty Jersey Burger. I guess we can't technically give them a Cluckin Good rating but, we're gonna hype them up for their damn good burger and buffalo calamari.....anyway, Cluckin Good is on frickin vacation.

Here's the goods:

Unofficial Rating - 8.9

Size: 8 - average serving of calamari, decent sized appetizer

Sauce: 8 - good spice, well balanced, good coverage

Sizzle: 6 - cooked well, not rubbery, came out a little luke warm due to
other appetizers and busy place

Sides: 8 - good blue cheese, creamy not too thick, good chunks but,
not enough for a whole plate of calamari

Samoleans: 7 - decent price, could be more food for $10.99

Service: 9 - great service the place was pretty packed

Setting: 9 - we sat at a booth in the bar, good ambience, noisy but appropriate

Superlatives: +1 - The Dirty Jersey Burger. Regular burger patty (on the thicker side), topped with mozzerella, fried o-rings dipped in a tasty buffalo sauce sitting on a piece of salty pork roll on a soft brioche bun with a side of blue cheese and fries.......flavor explosion. Also available in double, triple or quad I believe. Try it, you'll like it. I've tried it, about 13 or 14 times.......

Flipster's, Park Slope, Brooklyn

Flipster's is located at the corner of 9th Street and 7th Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. On the regular menu, wings come buffalo style and are priced 10 for $8 or 20 for $14. We went on monday night, which is wing night at Flipster's. On Monday night you can get 10 wings for $3 or 20 wings for $5. Also, you can get the wings with the sauce buffalo style or honey-bbq.

Here is the breakdown:

Rating: 9.3

Size: 8 - good size, decent size wings and drums, meaty, a few big ones but mostly medium sized pieces.

Sauce: 8 - good taste, good spiciness but not overwhelming, slightly on the dry side but, good dry

Sizzle: 9 - lightly breaded deep fried wings, cooked thoroughly

Sides: 9 - good creamy blue cheese, some chunks, not too thick, they don't charge for extras within reason

Samoleans: 8 - wings can be had for as little as 25 cents each or up to 80 cents each depending on the day you visit and the size you order, good deal any way you cut it.

Service: 8 - attentive, friendly, cute waitresses.....quick bus staff too

Setting: 8 - a chill and casual place, dark and comfortable too, can get busy and loud during the dinner rush but good vibes, good beer menu.....

Superlatives: +1 - awesome burgers...go for the burger suprise (stuffed with blue cheese and bacon) or the burger of the day or go for the burger happy hour for $5 burgers.
